Our next fundraiser begins today! We are selling Krispy Kreme value cards. Each card is to be sold for $16.00. The soccer program makes a 50% profit off of each card. This fundraiser will run through March 11 with no exceptions. Each student-athlete is required to sell at least two value cards. These cards are not hard to sell. I will be taking note of who turns their money in and the amount. Please come by my room for the order form and flyer with information.

As blogged about last weekend, both Sipsey Valley soccer teams did an outstanding job at the Townsend Holt Classic. The Sipsey Valley girls soccer team were crowned champions and the boys were close behind as runner-up. Apparently, we were not the only ones who took notice of this outstanding performance by our young squads. Tuscaloosa News and prep writer, Joey Chandler, published a write-up in the Tuscaloosa News paper Sunday. Less than 24 hours after Sipsey Valley won the tournament!
Girls I have emailed all your teachers letting them know you need to leave class about 11:15 to go eat lunch. All girls should eat together at one table. You then need to go and dress out in your black jerseys. I would suggest bringing an extra pair of shoes to change into once you are done playing. I have a feeling their field will be very wet. The bus will leave about noon and should arrive back at the school around 4:00. I will not be at school until about 11:30 because my sub refused to come in for a half day, so if you need me call/text my Google Voice number.
Boys who are interested in coming you must follow the same procedure are the girls who came to Thomasville. You need to check out as a personal excuse, bring $5 for a ticket and sit together on the visitor side of the stadium. I do not want ANY negative interaction with Hillcrest students or I will not allow student fans for future in school games. You also need to be on the bus by noon. Please let me know if you will be attending in person, via email or through Remind messaging.
Congratulations to both Sipsey Soccer varsity teams for their excellent showing at the Inaugural Townsend Holt Classic! To celebrate the girls' first place victory and boys' runner-up performance we are selling t-shirts to remember this fantastic Saturday.
Money will not be collected in person. People are responsible for paying through CustomInk online. If we do not hit our goal of 12 shirts your money will be refunded electronically. Shirts sizes ranges from youth sizes all the way through adult. The price per shirt is $18.11.
Congratulations Sipsey Valley Boys and Girls soccer teams for an outstanding showing at the inaugural Townsend Holt Classic Tournament.
The Varsity Girls' team won the tournament with an outstanding 3-0 final record. Defeating area rival Holt with a dominant score of 6-0, followed by two hard-fought wins against Hillcrest and Paul Bryant both with 1-0 final scores. The Sipsey Valley girls are off to another strong start season with the potential for a playoff run just like last year's stellar performances.
The Varsity Boys' team placed second in their division beginning with a tie game against area rival and host school Holt. The boys followed with an intensely competitive 2-0 victory against Hillcrest and finished with a surprising 4-1 loss to Paul Bryant. Despite the runner-up finish, Sipsey Valley boys have improved significantly since last year and pose a significant threat to area teams.
Both Sipsey Valley teams' performances at the Townsend Holt Classic helped them to bring home two, new pieces of hardware to add to the Sipsey Valley High School trophy case on Monday morning. Go Bears! Soccer makes The Valley proud!
Tomorrow is a beautiful day for soccer! Please remember to bring both jerseys (white and black). Girls, please be at Holt High School by 9:00 AM. Boys you need to be at Holt High School by 7:30 AM. Lunch is provided. See everyone out there. Go Bears!
