Some people are confused about the difference between player fees/dues and mandatory fundraisers. We don't pay for everything in our dues or they would be outrageously high. We use mandatory fundraising that works to fill in the gaps. While I am happy for the amount of money donated by the county, we are still paying $600-1,000 for shipping the goals. There is also some rumor going around someone else is paying for our nets - this is not true. If you have a question, please talk to a head coach and not to each other which only causes confusion and anger. It's not even January yet, let's keep everything in perspective.
Any parents/players with questions should come to the mandatory meetings where coaches have outlined the need for these. We provided a very detailed pricing breakdown sheet to explain exactly what player dues include: uniforms, referees, buses and gas. The dues do not cover seed, fertilizer, concession supplies, field paint, restroom supplies, sprinkler heads, etc. Unfortunately, nothing is just given to soccer. It's the responsibility of coaches and players to come up with the funds.
Lastly, NO practice tomorrow. The field looks like a swamp. We will have practice Friday. You can pick up Kick It 2 Win It tickets then.
